As part of its continued commitment to advancing healthcare in Bangladesh, Unifill Group proudly supported the establishment of the Abul Hossain Respiratory and Pneumonia Research Centre at Bangladesh Shishu Hospital and Institute in Dhaka.
The research centre was officially inaugurated by the Honorable Minister for Health and Family Welfare, Mr. Zahid Maleque, in the presence of distinguished government officials, healthcare professionals, and members of the Unifill Group leadership. During the ceremony, Mr. Abul Hossain, Chairman of Unifill Group, donated BDT 1.5 crore through the Abul Hossain Charitable Trust to support the establishment of the dedicated research facility.
The event was attended by several distinguished guests, including senior representatives from Bangladesh Shishu Hospital and Institute, the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS), the Directorate General of Health Education (DGHE), the Bangladesh Medical Association (BMA), and other respected dignitaries from the healthcare sector.
Established to strengthen Bangladesh's capacity to combat respiratory diseases and complicated pneumonia, particularly among children, the centre will serve as a hub for medical research, innovation, and improved patient care. The initiative reflects the vision of Mr. Abul Hossain and the Abul Hossain Charitable Trust to make a lasting contribution to the country's healthcare sector.
Speaking at the ceremony, representatives of Unifill Group expressed their sincere appreciation to Bangladesh Shishu Hospital and Institute for naming the research centre after Mr. Abul Hossain in recognition of his generous contribution and unwavering commitment to improving healthcare in Bangladesh.
